In May 1968, as a reaction to personal and general crisis, the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen wrote 14 text compositions that can also serve as improvisation instructions for ‘intuitive music’.

The practical workshop, which is open to talks and discussion, is aimed at all those interested in music, even those with little or even no knowledge

Instrumentalists, vocalists, performers and musical enthusiasts can expect an extensive programme with a large practical component of improvised/intuitive music, inspired by the text compositions of the ‘Seven Days’.

Programme

The workshop will be led by Amsterdam-based bass clarinettist Gareth Davis. Davis already has extensive experience with Stockhausen's material, which he will bring to the workshop.

The workshop will also feature talks and activities with Polish artist and art therapist Dellfina Dellert.

Christoph Ogiermann, violinist, composer, improviser and one of the artistic directors of the Halberstadt Cage Academy will also be available for the workshop.
